Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and direct music for rehearsals and services in coordination with the Pastor and Ministry Staff.
• Plan and administer general record-keeping and budget for the music ministry
• Prayerfully cast vision, plan strategically, and implement programming for the music and worship ministry, consistent with the vision, culture and mission of the church
• Cultivate opportunities for church members to be involved in music ministry both inside and outside the church
• Pray faithfully for the church members, families, and the worship ministry of this church
• Attend regular staff meetings and work cooperatively with church staff, support staff, deacons and members of the church.
• Participate in committees or meetings as assigned by the Pastor
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor

 Qualifications:

• Affirm the historic Southern Baptist Convention Faith and Doctrines

• Must have a strong vocal ability and convey a spirit of worship during weekly services
• Must support a ministry which includes orchestra, vocal praise team and choral styles of music, ranging from traditional hymns to more contemporary hymns and songs.
• Display a passion for Christ and the ministry to which God has called you to
• Completed or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in music with an instrumental or vocal emphasis.
• A Master's Degree from a Theological Seminary is a plus, but not required
• Prior ministry experience of at least 5 years is preferred
• Display excellent organizational and people skills

• Prepare professionally for personal growth in ministry through approved conferences, reading and additional research
• Select songs which are grounded and rooted in scripture and help lead the church to a meaningful corporate and personal encounter with God during worship service
• Show ability to recruit, organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and tech team members
• Engage youth and children in worship ministry

Description of Crossroads’ Music Ministry

Crossroads Baptist Church has a worship ministry which includes choir, orchestra, and praise team. Ministry leaders emphasize an inclusive approach to membership in these groups, allowing as many people as possible to participate from the congregation and local community. The church leans toward traditional hymns and songs, but a wide variety of musical styles is presented and encouraged. Our goal is to be worship-centered rather than performance-driven. We seek to honor God and lead the congregation into his presence through musical praise and worship.
