Our church is seeking a passionate and committed Student Minister to lead and grow our student ministry (grades 9-12 & college) through discipleship, missions, and fellowship. The Student Minister will create an engaging environment where students can develop a strong foundation in their faith, serve in missions, and build Christ-centered relationships. This role also includes opportunities to assist in pastoral duties such as preaching, visitation, and counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Ministry Leadership:
• Develop and implement a biblically sound discipleship strategyfor students.
• Plan and oversee weekly student gatherings, including Bible studies, worship, and small groups.
• Organize and lead mission opportunities, both locally and globally, that involve students in sharing the Gospel.
• Foster fellowship opportunities through retreats, events, camps, and activities.
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers and student leaders to serve in the ministry.
• Encourage students to actively engage in the life of the church (worship, service, and missions).
Pastoral Support & Church Involvement:
• Preach or teach in the absence of the senior pastor, as needed.
• Assist in visitation ministry, providing encouragement and prayer for members in hospitals, nursing homes, and at home.
• Provide biblical counseling to students and families when needed.
• Collaborate with church staff and leadership to align the student ministry with the overall vision of the church.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, encouraging family discipleship.
Qualifications:
• A clear calling to student ministry and a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Agreement with and adherence to Southern Baptist beliefs and doctrine.
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Experience in student ministry leadership (paid or volunteer).
• Strong biblical teaching and discipleship skills.
• Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• A heart for missions and evangelism.
