Youth Pastor 

Job Description

Position: Full Time

Principle Function:

The Youth Pastor is to lead the church'w ministries for youth grades 7 12, assist in the church's ministries for children grades K - 6, serve as an outreach to the families of children and youth in our community and assist them in becoming involved in their children's spriritual development.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with the Pastor and other church staff as well as youth and children's teams in establishing organized and active children and youth programs.
2. Encourage and enlist active family involvement in the church through the planning ad implementation of student programs.
3. Attend all church services and functions.
4. Plan and coordinate Wednesday evening and Sunday morning and evening youth Bible studies.
5. Plan and coordinate a minimum of two (2) youth events a month.
6. Make sure adult supervision is present during any youth functions.
7. Assist with Team Kid Worship Rally.
8. Plan and coordinate summer camps and/ or mission trips for the youth and children.
9. Plan and coordinate the youth calendar of events with the Youth Team.
10. Assist the Children's Team with events and programs for the children grades K - 6.
11. Act as a liason between communtiy, schools, other church's youth and children's programs and Simpson Baptist Church.
12. Assist in worship services and other activities of the church, including visitations.
13. Counsel with youth and families as needs arise.
14. Other duties and responsibilities as deemed by the Pastor.
15. Maintain regularly scheduled job-related activities at the church to provide adequate access to the church members and keep daily activity log of duties and contacts. Activity logs are to be turned in weekly to the Pastor of Personnel Chairman.
16. Keep the church Secretary/ Adminstrative Assistant knowable of work/locations at all times.

Policies:

1. The Youth Pastor is responsibile to the Pastor and Personnel Committee in all matters regarding the fulfillment of duties.
2. The Youth Pastor will follow all guidelines as presented in the Constitution and By-Laws.
3. The Youth Pastor will be present at all church youth functions; if not he/she will also be responsible for appointing a designated adult in charge. Anytime he/she is unable to attend he/she will also be responsible for contacting the Church Secretary/ Admintrative Assistant or the Personnel Chairman in advance to notify administrations of his/hers absence of whom will be designated to be in charge in his/her's absence.
